About the Job
About Us:

We are a small (but mighty!) female-founded team based in San Francisco. As a family-owned business, we are invested in finding the best people to join our tightly knit team. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a creative, energetic, data-driven environment and share our values of collaboration, communication, and positivity. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a huge impact at a fast-growing ecommerce company.

Overview:
The Senior Manager of Product for Hard Lines & Technical Wear owns end-to-end product development for Hard Lines (hardware, plastics, charms, ID tags) and Technical Wear (harnesses, leashes), our categories with the highest compliance and safety requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and proactive in identifying and solving quality, safety, and development roadblocks before they impact the business. Beyond technical expertise, this person will own vendor relationships, timelines, and cross-functional partnership with Design, Marketing, and Planning for these product categories. This role requires someone who deeply understands how hardware, webbing, and plastics perform (and fail) under real-world stress and safety-critical use, and who brings that rigor to every product decision.

This position is based in San Francisco (we are currently hybrid and come into the office twice a week).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own end-to-end product development for Hard Lines, including hardware, plastics, charms, and ID tags.
  • Own end-to-end product development for Technical Wear including harnesses and leashes.
  • Manage all communication with vendors and development partners.
  • Drive timeline against key milestone dates to deliver products on-time.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including product design, marketing and planning to bring high quality, attractive products to market that meet our safety standards.
  • Ensure every product meets our internal safety and quality standards, with particular attention to hardware failure points, strap/webbing durability, and small-parts safety.
  • Own tooling development, sample review, and pre-production approvals for hardware/plastic components.

Qualifications:
  • 8-10+ years of product development experience in categories where hardware, webbing, straps, or plastics must perform reliably under real stress or safety-critical conditions.
  • Deep, hands-on understanding of hardware and strap/webbing systems: how they're constructed, tested, and how they fail under load. Or equivalent expertise in small-parts safety and plastics/hardware engineering for products used by children or pets.
  • Track record managing overseas vendors and tooling from concept to launch.
  • Strong cross-functional project management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience partnering closely with quality and compliance stakeholders.
  • Background in outdoor/technical gear, technical pet products, or juvenile/baby products is strongly preferred
