We are looking for candidates who thrive in a creative, energetic, data-driven environment and share our values of collaboration, communication, and positivity. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a huge impact at a fast-growing ecommerce company from the ground up.
Overview
We're looking for a part-time, contract Product Development Assistant to support our PD team and keep our sample pipeline moving. The bulk of this role is spec'ing inbound samples and maintaining the records that keep development on track.
This is a contract position for 10-15 hours per week that is ideal for someone with a background or interest in fashion design, product development, apparel/accessory design, or a related field. You'll work alongside our product team and learn the full sample lifecycle, from first prototype through production. It's a chance to see how products are developed, fit, and approved in the real world.
Required in-person at our San Francisco office on Tuesdays from 9-4pm, plus additional Thursday hours scheduled flexibly between 9am and 5:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Spec inbound proto, PP (pre-production) and TOP (top-of-production) samples against tech packs — this is the core of the role. You'll take measurements and fill out measurement tables with your findings.
- Pull and prepare submits, prior samples, and approvals (lab dips, strike-offs, trim cards, hardware) to compare against incoming samples for the PD team.
- File and tag samples, lab dips, strike offs, swatches, and hardware samples into designated locations.
- Keep the PD workspace and storage areas organized.
About You:
- High attention to detail.
- Comfortable with basic spreadsheets and willing to learn new tracking tools.
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
- Good attitude with a willingness to tackle unglamorous tasks.
- Passion for pets and thoughtful design!
